Supporting a shared vision for sustainability in Canada
Ivey’s Economy and Environment program supports Canada’s transition to a sustainable economy by identifying opportunities to enhance resource efficiency, foster innovation and advance the field of sustainable finance.
The Ivey Foundation will be continuing granting practices in 2020 as planned. We are committed to supporting our existing grantees and plan to maintain granting levels, process grant applications, make scheduled cheque payments, and continue most other operations without interruption, while respecting the need for individual isolation. As always, grant decisions are based on many factors including a consideration of the social, economic and political climate in which we operate. Please do not hesitate to contact anyone on the Ivey team should you have specific questions regarding the status of your grant.
Philanthropy for a Sustainable Economy
Canada is well-positioned to demonstrate how a natural resource economy can transition to a sustainable, low-carbon economy, while continuing to be prosperous. This complex transition requires support for new ways of thinking, and for building bespoke institutional and governance arrangements designed with Canada’s specific challenges and opportunities in mind.
The Ivey Foundation supports: information gathering and rigorous analysis; organizational capacity for policy research; the creation of solution-based collaborative networks; and public communications methods to advance practical outcomes at scale. To this end, the Foundation partners with leaders in academia, non-government organizations, governments and the private sector, through collaborative processes shaped by the Foundation.
