First Nations and Forest Tenure Supplement
Issues of First Nations rights and management authority are central to discussions of forest tenure models. This “dialogue” resulted from several submitted comments during the review of the “Foundations” tenure vision paper and from conversations with Chief Keeter Corston of Chapleau Cree First Nation and Chairman to the newly created Northeast Superior Regional Chiefs’ Forum (NSRCF).
From August 18th to 20th, 2008 Tim Gray and
Bruce Lourie joined a group of other conservation foundation staff
and board members for an eye-opening workshop and tour of the Alberta
oil sands. Tim's impressions (and photos) are captured on his tour
blog at http://oilsandstour.blogspot.com/
